    Description

    RARELY SEEN, BOLDLY PAINTED, ORNATE T&V LIMOGES PLATE; ROUSSET
    This ornate, beautifully embossed and gilded plate has been lavishly decorated by the factory artist, "Rousset".
    The background is finished in bold green, gold and brown. On this beautiful ground, the artist has executed gorgeous red, yellow and pink roses on stem and leaf. The foliage has been finished in a bold pallet of autumn tones. The fancy border has been finished in a combination of rich Roman gold and ornate swags and flourishes that have been outlined in fine black pen work.
    The overall display is very appealing.This ornate plate measures 8 ¼ inches in diameter.
    There is a small amount of wear to the gold on the embossed high points and edge as photographed. And a little lost tiny green painted at the leaf .See a pics 12.
    This does not distract from the piece in any way and is mentioned for accuracy
    . The colors are bold and beautiful and there are no chips, cracks, crazing or damages to the painted surfaces of any kind.
    The blank is marked with the rarely seen Boisbertrand & Theilloud underglaze mark in green used from 1882 and the Tressemann & Vogt overglaze decorating mark 16b in purple that was used from 1907-1919.
