DESCRIPTION:
This superb quality china has colors that are bright and realistic.  This is hand decorated on a blank of white fine china which is painted with background washes of brown, blue and cream.  This is on a smooth rimmed mold which is scalloped with alternating large and small scallops.  The whimsical design has cock Quail running through field grasses.  There is a hole drilled by the manufacturer in the foot of the back for the hanging of the plate.
CONDITION:
While this plate is classified as used, it is in superb condition.  We can find no chips, cracks, hairlines, nicks, rubbings or repairs. There is no wear to the gold.  The smooth edges are not nicked.  There appears to be no crazing.  See the photos.  The lack of utensil scratches attests to the high quality of the fine china.  The decorative plate is beautiful.
DIMENSIONS:
The plate has a diameter of 9 1/2" and a height of 1 3/16".
HISTORY/MARKS:
Lazeyras, Rosenfeld & Lehman operated in 1906-1938 in Limoges, France.  This decorating studio's artists painted figural or portrait subjects, game bird plates, and fish services for a very short time in the early 1920's.  Their work is considered to be of very high quality, but not much is known about the history of the decorating studio.  Their mark usually occurs without an accompanying white ware mark.
In Mary Frank Gaston’s
Collector’s Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain
, 3rd edition, this mark is very similar to the LRL mark #2 which is circa 1920’s
.  The exact mark is also cited on the website marks4ceramics as mark #1 which was used in the 1920's.
