Description

Alkanet Root is obtained from the base of the plant. Herbalists are thought to believe this part of the plant helps with skin itching. Many cold process soap makers like this product for the natural purple burgundy color that it produces.
Use this in your soap to create a purple color. It does turn a bit gray at first but will turn into a murky purple color in CP soap depending on the pH level. You can infuse this root into your oils to obtain the color. Usage rate depends on ingredients and shade desired.  It is suggested to test a smaller batch first to determine the outcome of color for each recipe.
